Altona Type 2

Returning after a six-year pause: the Type 2 dies were actually made by Johan Henrik Wolff in early 1773, then stored until production resumed at Altona in 1779. Closely related to Type 1, they retain the small upper “1” but introduce a new, less complete rosette design. Their later use alongside newer Type 3 dies makes this small group an intriguing bridge between two very different periods of Altona production.
